Children & Youth Ministry

The Children and Youth Ministry is an integral part of the church’s mission to encourage the development of Christ-centered families that are spiritually, emotionally, and relationally healthy.

Children are taught and encouraged to participate in the various elements of worship, while the ministry develops programs for toddlers through age thirteen and partners with parents in nurturing their children's faith both at church and at home.

Children and Worship

It is clear that God has always accepted the worship of children and, at times, even lifted their worship up as a model for adults.

Jesus affirmed this truth when He declared:

"Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise" (Matt. 16:4).

Likewise, in the Great Commandment, Jesus teaches:

"To love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul and with all thy mind" (Matt. 22:37).

We believe that every person, regardless of age, has the capacity to love God with all their heart, soul, and mind - whether at age 5, 11, or 35.

Our Biblical Foundation

We view children as they were viewed in Bible times - active participants in worship, faith, and community life.

Psalm 78:4 reflects the importance of passing faith from one generation to the next and inspiring children to worship the Lord.

The belief that of all people, the child was the dearest to God is still held today, and as the worship of God (Yahweh) was an integral part of the Hebrew child’s life is just as relevant in this post-modern world of the 21st century.

Scripture also reminds us:

"In Psalm 148:12-13 it is clear that God invites children to join their parents in worshipping Him."

Children may not yet understand every doctrine or aspect of biblical revelation, but they should be taught, encouraged, and supported as they learn to love God with all their hearts and minds while participating in the life and ministry of the church.

Our Vision

Our vision is to develop an effective ministry model that transforms the lives of youth, their families, and the community.

To accomplish this, we seek collaborative partnerships with churches, para-church ministries, organizations, agencies, and businesses. These partnerships help coordinate resources, strengthen ministry efforts, and develop strategies that positively impact young people and their families.

Our Goals

  • Help young people establish a solid foundation for life.
  • Encourage positive influence within their homes, schools, peer groups, and communities.
  • Build loving relationships that encourage lifelong relationships with Jesus Christ.
  • Create leadership opportunities for children and youth.
  • Foster relationship-building that promotes spiritual growth, discipleship, and community involvement.
